Odd customs or social habits, following is a list of some of the many surprising situations that a foreigner might be confronted by in Argentina.
1. If one of the symbols of Argentine cuisine is DULCE DE LECHE (a sweet, spreadable paste made from milk and sugar), it’s not a coincidence at all, but due to the fact that Argentines are fanatics about this sweet treat.
To escape from the noise of transit and buildings, it’s not necessary to travel far. In Buenos Aires there are two ecological reserves to visit: one on the North Shore (in San Isidro) and the the other on the Southern Coast (in Capital Federal.)
These urban oases are reservoirs of plants and animals characteristic of the coastal environments along the Río de la Plata. Both offer guided tours and walks.
The southern area that limits to the East with the River Plate has many inhabitants and it is there where the contrasts are more obvious.
